"Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise; be thankful unto Him and bless His name."
Psalm 100:4
As we minister to people who are on the street; people who are selling their bodies for money; people who are lost and hurting:
As we go to people who are living in condemned homes and buildings; people who do not have heat or water: As people come to the mission without food or clean clothes; with addictions and pain: As I visit people in the hospital and they are hooked up to breathing machines; death is pronounced on them; diseases are pronounced on them; as they cry out in pain; or try to speak, but cannot... As I visit those who lived good productive lives and then a tradgedy came along and now they cannot do what they used to do: As we see children whose parents don't know where they are and they are surrounded by drugs, alcohol and sexual immorality........
As we see the destruction and heartache on lives; As we see that others are living in despair, it is a wonder how many of us find time to complain!
It is amazing how, many, take much for granted!
Did you sleep in a bed last night; wake up in your right mind, with a roof over your head? Were you able to move any part of your body? Did you have food to eat and clean clothes to wear? How much thanks have you given to the Father?
Can you see today; hear today and speak today? How much thanks have you given to the Father?
Do you have any family or friends; people who you love and they love you back? How much thanks have you given the Father?
Do you have a place to live; heat/air and lights; hot running water; telephones working; appliances; clothes and shoes? How much thanks have you given to the Father?
Do you have a job or type of income; a vehicle or means of transportation? How much thanks have you given to the Father?
Is your heart beating on its own; is there warm blood flowing through your body? How much thanks have you given to the Father?
Can you read and write; make decisions for yourself; Did you have parents/grandparents/adoptive parents or someone who loved you as a child? How much thanks have you given the Father?
Many, take much for granted!
Do you want to be in God's will? Give thanks!!
"In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you." I Thess. 5:18
Don't wait until you lose something, to realize how blessed you are!!!!
If nothing else we need to give God thanks and praise for His Son; for the sacrifice; for the blood; for salvation; for His Word; for His Holy Spirit; for loving us first; for choosing us; for making a way for us!! If nothing else we need to thank God for not giving up on us; for His longsuffering with us; for His provision for us! If nothing else we need to to thank God for grace and mercy!!
"It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High:" Psalm 92:1
Make a decision today, to give thanks for all things...
"Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;" Eph. 5:20
Don't take anything for granted...It is only by God's grace...
