Folklore
One strange bird from the woods
perched on a house top
all day long its hunters hunt after it
to roast it like fresh corn
it lost the appetite for grain
as it lie awake.
It could hear some abusive language
mankind using its name to curse
it realized that life is like the evening shadows
at the top level everything sings your praise
down the bottom line you’re on your own
sort of a mixed blessing.
From the blue sky
it has seen the wicked bury their sons
but on the way back to the city
the same subjects he tormented
lamented about their sudden demise
strange enough some even weep for them.
From the same blue sky,
it has watched brave men killed in battle
and their bodies eaten by wolves
but back at the king’s court
he takes the credit for victory
and the families of the dead pay more taxes.
The second sparrow
became worried about its fate
it swing its two wings flying towards Noah’s ark
its intuition warned about the approaching storm
from the same tinged sky and far apart
it notices its hunters and its master
in different ways both preparing to receive the rain.
