Run to safety real fast
We all agree sometimes we like risky adventures. Such times, we like to do something risky and dangerous to break the daily routine and boost our ego. To me, pitching a tent outside and sleep overnight in it freaks me out. Truth is, a camping tent is just a temporary shelter. Where you chose to camp matters, you cannot choose a path of elephants as your camping site. Neither can you chose to camp hurricane Evans path. This is dicing with death. Yet this is all what we humans do when we do not have a personal relationship with Christ Jesus.
When a person is outside Christ you are at the path and mercy of demonic tidings. Reason the Bible in the book of John 10:10 (King James Version) tells us the thief does not come except to steal and to kill and destroy. I have come so that they may have life and that they may have it more abundantly. Check this out when one is outside Christ he has pitched his spiritual camp (his soul), in the path of the devil. And what happens, the devil won’t scare him with horns and skulls no he is wise. He is a deceiver because all he will do is use him through all evils and the worst thing is that the person being destroyed will not know. Why? The devil will bait him with earthly pleasures like lust and greed that are sweet to the flesh but results are destruction.
Camping at the devils comforts, is like fixing telephone cables without switching off power or wearing insulators. Reason, when the devil has destroyed you and you have hit rock bottom he snuffs life out of you as fast just like an electric shock. Before you say Christ deliver me you are dead. Why because he knows when you are down and out after having been used of him you will seek an alternative Master to serve. The alternative is the Lion of Judah, in person of Jesus Christ.
Let me give you some cases I have heard and read of the celebrities especially in music who die mysteriously. Posthumously you will hear a rumor like that legend was on the path of religious search it might even be said “well I hear he had even started reading the Bible.” I have experienced that in my life too in 1998 I had a friend we took bhang together laced it in tea but out of the blues one day he told me. James man, we need to get saved (Salvation). I thought good idea then after sometime; we forgot about it and went back to normal carefree dicing with death lifestyle. But that was to strike me few months later when my pal died of a clot. I thought he was invincible how could he die worse still, without Christ. Then I realized when the devil knows you are about to quit his camp he annihilates you so you will not find Jesus Christ. Lesson, choose the Messiah when you still got time and health do not procrastinate.
But Jesus’ camp is the camp of life. Reason when you are in HIM, you are safe. The devil may try to annihilate when you are anchored in Jesus he never succeeds. Know that immediately you change camps and pitch your tent (soul and spirit) to the Messiah the devil is hysterical he starts relentless attacks through your weakest link why? The Bible says in 1 peter 5:8 (King James Version): Be sober be vigilant because your adversary the devil walks around like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour. Being sober means you can see things real clearly. Remember a sinner’s life is like a person who has pitched a tent in a camp at the forest full of lions and elephants. He knows he is in real trouble in such a camp and his tent yet he cannot move out. Picture this even at night he sees a big figure approaching his tent and still he refuses to run why because he fears the cold and the dark even if his instincts tell him run he stays on. The result is he is trampled on by the elephant with his tent and lamp. Yet he had the option of running. A sinner is destroyed together by what he refuses to leave behind. The devil will devour you if you do not resist him as explained in 1 peter 5:9 (KJV) Resist him steadfast in faith knowing that the same suffering are experienced by your brotherhood in the world.
You see when you move camps and follow Christ, activate your faith. Lack of faith and love of stupid desires made the man be trampled by the elephant. He refused to hearken to the instinctive voice that was at his heart warning him see he had a choice to make but he made the wrong one. Christ in revelation 3:20 says behold I stand at the door and knock if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him and he with me. Following Christ is a choice each one of us has to make.
While camping in Christ’s saving grace does not mean we are not prone to temptation. They come but we all have a weapon. My way in dealing with temptation is some basic sense. I only have to say to myself no way I have gone so far with Christ to let some fleshly temptation mangle my relationship with Christ. Do you know every time you sin deliberately you are taking the Messiah back to the cross? And it is disconcerting.
If you are out camping every time you are there, there must be guards who warn others of any impeding danger. If the guards relax, the campers will not be in a position to react to danger as fast as possible. The reason being, before you fight back you must be prepared if you are not prepared you will be disoriented by the enemy. It is common knowledge to a Christian that lack of prayers and spiritual vigilance makes a believer slide back slowly into temptations. This happened to disciples in Matthew 26: 40-41a (Then HE came to the disciples and found them sleeping and said to peter “What? Could you not watch with Me one hour? Watch and pray lest you enter into temptation.) When we do not arm ourselves with prayer we lose focus on Christ we have no guards in our spiritual camp so what happens is, an unguarded camp is vulnerable to attack. This means, at such prayer less mode reaction time to attack from temptation is very poor.
When you converse with by prayer Jesus Christ you acquire spiritual armor because, think of it the earth is a camping site. I raise this point because camping is not a permanent dwelling location the coming New Jerusalem is. The earth is so; it is a camping site which if you are not vigilant so many things can sweep you by lust, greed and sins. In any camp it must be kept warm otherwise the occupants will freeze to death. This is done by adding more coal or firewood to the already burning fire so it won’t die out.
If as believers we do not keep our spiritual fire burning through the counsel of the Holy Spirit and God’s word soon it will die out. When it dies out we start to seek other destructive elements to ignite us. We as believers disintegrate and stray away from Christ Jesus this means we get into a thorny jungle that bruises us and the more you drift into it the more entangled and tied you become. Eventually after being tied up in that jungle you die of cold and hunger coz you cannot move.
The lesson we should learn here is, just like a fire lit at a camp the more warmer it gets the more the people mill around it and even it may attract animals. Imagine when you are in Christ and on fire for him you will attract and win more souls to HIM, and even win those persons with tough personality like ruffians. They are going to see fire of GOD in you and soon they mill around you to get it. At that point, their laid back tough guy altitude spiced with a thuggish, I do not care demeanor will be melted by Holy Ghost fire and before you know it. They are the altar crying for Christ’s forgiveness and what happens, they are no longer campers but dwellers forever in the presence of GOD through faith in Jesus Christ. The love of Jesus Christ draws men to HIM it did in my case. Pray knowing, as per proverbs 15:8 (KJV) The prayer of the upright is HIS delight. Or what do you think?
