Living came by the grace of God through Jesus Christ, who came in flesh to show us the way (Hebrews 10:20) and died so as to allow us to live the way he’d showed us (John 1:14; 10:10; Matthew 28: 18-20). We all have our personal ambitions, goals and visions in which we would want to be a reality someday but let us not forget that before we became free to have all those dreams, we were only thinking of how many rams, goats, cows and sheep we’re going to sacrificed in order to get ourselves free (Hebrews 10:3-4).
Daily, people give their life to Christ but when we look in to the ratio between the number of believers and unbelievers, it seems as if we aren’t doing anything. Indeed there are many souls to be harvested for God but the Laboring force is too small (Matthew 9:37-38). A farmer alone cannot harvest thousands of crops in just a little time and anyone he does not harvest gets rotten underground.
Many of us are too good in honouring our earthly fathers’ last words and forget the fact that the one that saved us dropped some few words which should serve as a legacy to all believers; those words are embedded in the book of Matthew 28:18-20. I believe that we are saved and immediately we got saved, the life we live is owed to Him that saved us.
The Bible says according to II Corinthians 2:15 that, ‘we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish.’ We are ‘Savours’, the aroma coming from us radiates among both the ‘saved’ and the ‘perish’ (unbelievers). Our lives is like a movie in which we are the characters and those watching would want to be like you (of course children would always want to practice what they see on movies and adults would always want to be the ones acting the movie).
So you see that you are not always free from who you are. As a matter of fact LIVING IS PREACHING; it is not when you pick up the mic that you’ll know you are preaching. Yes, every second is time for EVANGELISM.
The big question is not ‘Why you are not Evangelizing’ but ‘What are you evangelizing?’ it’s true that we live a life of evangelism everyday but we can’t run away from the fact that not all lives radiates the Savour of Christ. Every life houses an aroma which indicates a presence in their lives. Some of us in the Kingdom never for once behave like children of the kingdom; that’s why even those around us can’t tell if we are a Christian or not. Just like someone once said, ‘If there is no difference between you and an unbeliever, then you are just a walking question mark’.
Brethren, ‘…If thou, being a Jew, livest after the manner of Gentiles, and not as do the Jews, why compellest thou the Gentiles to live as do the Jews? We who are Jews by nature, and not sinners of the Gentiles…. for if we build again the things which we destroyed, we make ourselves transgressors.’ (Galatians 2:14, 15 and 18). We can’t live our lives undercover with one leg in the world and the other in the kingdom.
When we live our lives as though we are not saved, we tend to limit ourselves which is a problem because the problems we ought to solve, will still be there and at the end of the day, we will stand before God and give and account of the works we should have done while we were here on earth.
Whether you like it or not, you are a silent Preacher. As said earlier, you are a harvester of souls. What’s the point answering the name while the responsibility suffers deficiency?
Think about it… Evangelism is leadership; we all would like to have a generational impact, we all would like our name to mean something, we all would like to be heard everywhere in the world. But it all start from a single decision; What Savour fits what am called for?
