We look for God in the miracles and in the greatness of people, but fail to see God in every mundane ordinary task we do as humans.
God is in the small gestures of a smile. God is in the simple acts of kindness. God is in the love shared with every person.
God is in those deemed 'less' than, those disenfranchised and those sitting in the hidden byways, in the shadowed nooks and in the dark crannies of our streets who are treated as the 'invisible' ones.
We have a culture and a society (including those in churches and faith communities) who separate, segregate, ostracize and divide based on doctrine, denomination, title, status, race, wealth, position and outward appearance.
We have a Christian culture of those who become followers of people, lifting them up as some 'great' person, when they are the same as any other - yet treated as super spiritual giants.
We have a culture who praises authors, speakers, pastors, leaders as if they have some higher spiritual status --- when the reality is they are just like any other person. We have a culture who give praise to other humans who they deem as giants of the faith --- when the reality is --- they are just like you and I; flawed human beings under construction.
God does not have favorites as we are all His beloved ones in whom he delights and His love is freely lavished on all who will receive and He does not separate, segregate or divide His people into groups of 'less' than or 'more' than. Each one of us are samely loved, cherished, desired and pursued by this love being.
God's love does not differentiate according to what is done or not done. God's love is not metered out or given based on spiritual accolades, spiritual endeavors or spiritual involvements as His love is given to all regardless of any activity.
God's love requires one simple act - the act of receiving and that is it. God sees the heart of humans and humans view others based on activity, involvements, appearance, title, and/or position held.
We don't know how biased we are as the veil of deception and blindness can be thickly hidden. The reason we come to our Lord again and again and again is so He can show us His love and reveal to us our own human tendencies to judge, oppress, and divide.
We are drawn into the Holy of Holies by the Holy One who calls us by name and whose love is unmerited favor simply because He is love and His very essence and character is love.
This love that God inhabits we know not until we encounter Him and in each encounter we are ushered deeper, nearer, wider, and higher into His majestic beauty where love resides, dwells, and remains.
It is this type of love ---- pure, chaste, divine, supernatural, and most holy that we are becoming when our strongest desire is to live from Christ as our source who unveils His love in the ordinariness of our days.
The miracles of Christ that are most extraordinary are in how His love radically transforms our human inclinations into godly ones.
We marvel in the revelation of The Holy One and are in awe of the Christ whose Spirit-life frees and liberates us from culture, from societal ways and from religious laws. God's love releases us from performeance-driven lifestyles, having to measure up to another or having to prove our worth.
We are viewed worthy in God's eyes as we have been infused with Christ's righteousness, divintiy, holiness and supernatural love and we are reconciled in the Godhead who inhabits love and whose orgins are love and who births His love renewing our mortal bodies.
We have been given the greatest gift imaginable in receiving this love and it is the Faithfulness of Jesus whose love-life inhabits our beings who has called, chosen and commissioned us to be His all our days!
