Under Construction
"Beloved, we are now children of God, and what we will be has not yet been revealed. We know that when Christ appears, we will be like Him, for we will see Him as He is." 1 John 3:2
Not one of us who are on this earth have arrived in any state of perfection. We are all walking this narrow road in being sanctified, regenerated and continually renewed by the life of Christ who lives His life through our daily surrender.
The above scripture speaks of the reality - we are all in the midst of God's miraculous work as He forms his life in ours - he is molding us into becoming godly image bearers.
We are learning to respond according to the holy desires of Christ life in us choosing to no longer react from our human tendencies in certain ways. While under construction we don't always respond according to the Spirit's desire in us with our spouses, friends, co-workers, associates, etc.
We often react from our human inclined desires - forsaking the fellowship of Christ's life in denying his power and calling upon us.
This is the way of being transformed in the flux of our humanness and those traits in us such as; stubbornness, resistance, pride, arrogance, etc., are the tendencies that become necessary to give up, to surrender, to turn over; to cease from doing so we step into the grace of Christ --- moment-by-moment in our faith.
The above scriptures speak of the reality that we are not yet what we shall be and neither are those we daily find ourselves dealing with as we are ALL continually being regenerated and transformed. We are ALL learning to stop reacting according to our own desires, our own 'right', or our own wanting. We are ALL learning to grow in our understanding of grace.
As each one of us are learning to grow in our understanding of grace, we are relating with other believers who are also learning to grow in thier understanding of grace.
Each one of us learn through error, mistakes, failing and falling on our face as we cannot live this life of faith alone without binding to the vine of Christ as our source who becomes our truth, our way, and our life.
While under construction we do not always view life or others through the lens of God-consciousness. Sometimes we are viewing ourselves and others through our own filter of; judging, blaming, frustration, irritation using human ways to relate with another.
It is when we say NO to our tendencies and inclined ways of reacting and learn to recognize our great need to step into the grace of Christ who is continually restoring us to respond to others from his divine supernatural power.
When interacting with others who are in the midst of having Christ's life formed in them - they too have not arrived and are continually being changed and are under holy construction.
They too have human inclinations and they too are in the flux of learning to walk by faith in the unseen realm of grace. They too will make mistakes, will err, will fail and will fall from living in thier own ability in learning to walk in grace.
The hope we have is we will not yet become who the author and finisher of our faith intends us to be until his finished work of completed construction occurs when we come face to face with Christ at the end of our life on earth - when we see him in glory.
Until then we realize and recognize our own human frailty as we come face to face with other's frailty - humanness.
2 Peter 1:3 informs us that "His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness."
The Hope we have is we are being continually changed, we are being continually transformed and we are being continually sanctified by his holiness.
I can look back on my life and see who I was and compare that to who I am becoming now inside. I can see the vast difference in my inner character and view those traits Christ has formed to be nearer to His. I can clearly see what He has accomplished in my life throughout the many years, in my struggles, in my difficulties, in my mistakes, in my errors, in the wrong choices I have made and in the numerous challenges.
Although I will have to deal with my human inclinations and my human wanting all my days - the confidence and assurace I have come to know, recognize and realize on a deep level -- is the way of the Cross and the way of Christ is in intentionally choosing His life and His desire for me ----- responding according to his holiness as my way of being.
The life of faith becomes one of choosing to be intentional; intentionally nurturing, cultivating and cherishing the life of Christ ------- continually choosing to yield, surrender, and turn to his ways --- realizing it is all grace.
