As Christians we need to be strong. We should act with grace, be composed, and let our presence convey to others that they can lean on us in times of trouble no matter what. As christians we are called to be God's emotional, mental, and spiritual healers for others. We must not act haughty but we must also understand that we are soldiers in Christs army. Everyday is a struggle and there is a war going on between the devil and God. We must never forget our roles. We must never allow ourselves to be caught in sin and we must continually pray as the solution to not falling into sin. When we sin, it affects everyone in our lives around us and hurts them. It also prevents us from being able to serve them truly as the children of God that God created us to be. When Jesus was in the garden of Gethsemane he was asking his disciples to stay up and pray and be there for him. He needed their support but instead they fell asleep. I believe that all of the disciples felt bad about them not being there for Jesus in those moments for the rest of their lives. Interestingly enough, when Jesus was telling his disciples not to fall into sin and be there for him he specifically asked them to pray.
"But the jews incited the devout women of high standing and leading men of the city, stirred up persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and drove them out of their district. But they shook off the dust from their feet against them and went to Iconium" Acts 13:50-51 I believe this bible verse is an example of how to be upright, strong, and giving off a true confidence in Jesus. I believe this verse shows the mentality Christians should have when they are filled with the holy spirit going through challenges. Also I believe this verse shows how the apostles had a soldier of Christ mentality against those who oppose them and kept their minds on the matters of the holy spirit.
