Scriptural references:
For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little: For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people, To whom he said, this is the rest with which you may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing ... - Isaiah 28:10-12a
But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatever I have said to you - John 14:26
But you, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost - Jude 1:20
But they that wait on the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint - Isaiah 40:31
(Other references: Romans 8:28, Isaiah 40:28-29)
Sermon:
Do you know why you often stammer (or repeat some words) every time you are speaking in tongues? Check Isaiah 28:11. It says - For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people. The LORD has designed the gift of tongues to be that way. It is the stammering lips from heaven. You may have been speaking in tongues for a while and not even know some of its benefits. The benefits are immense but because of time, I will share three of the benefits with you today.
One of the benefits I would like to share on is that the gift opens the door for you to be refreshed and restful. Isaiah 28:11-12a says - For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people, To whom he said, this is the rest with which you may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing. From the above scripture, you could see the benefit I am talking about. When you speak in tongues often, you will be refreshed and you will walk in divine rest. Late Kenneth Hagin and Late Smith Wigglesworth understood this benefit and they would often speak in tongues and get refreshed and restful. GOD is not a partial God. You too can be refreshed.
A second benefit is revelation. When you pray in tongues for a long time, you would flow in Revelation. Isaiah 28:10 says, "For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little". And John 14:26 says, But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatever I have said to you. As you spend quality time, praying in tongues, God would begin to enlarge your mind and heart and reveal things to you. Your capacity would be enlarged. As it is written, "But you, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost" (Jude 1:20). Apostle Paul spoke in tongues a lot. For he said In 1 Corinthians 14:18, "I speak in tongues more than you all". As a result of that, He had so much wisdom and revelation. No wonder he wrote a larger percentage of the epistles. Endeavour to speak in tongues for at least one hour everyday and you would operate more in divine wisdom and revelation.
A third benefit I want to share with you now is that it imparts supernatural power and strength. The world is waiting for the manifestation of the sons of God. You need to demonstrate the power. Isaiah 40:31 says - But they that wait on the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. That's what happen when you wait on GOD speaking in tongues. The LORD would strengthen your inner man and you would be strong on the inside. It was reported that Smith Wigglesworth used to pray in tongues whenever he was tired and that he was strengthened by praying in tongues. Isaiah 40:28-29 tells us that GOD doesn't get tired or weary. When you devote time speaking to GOD in tongues, the LORD will impart his strength and power upon you in Jesus name.
From today onward, as you spend quality time praying in tongue, you will walk in divine rest and divine strength and power shall be your portion in Jesus name. You will enjoy all round rest. You will run and not be weary and you will walk and not faint in Jesus name. You would demonstrate power and healing and miracles would be done through you and signs and wonders would follow you n Jesus name. If you believe, shout a believing - Amen!
Prayer:
Prayer:
Father GOD, I ask that you empower me, renew my strength and give me all round rest as I speak in tongues. I pray with thanksgiving in Jesus name.
