Psalms 37:4 - "Delight yourself also in the LORD; and he shall give you the desires of your heart. Psalms 37:5 - Commit your way to the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring [it] to pass. And he will give you your heart's desires."
When our priority is relationship with our Lord and when we pursue Him, spending time in Him alone daily and throughout our days having our attentions, affections placed in Him, He will cause us to have holy desires.
His life causes us to have godly inclinations and godly aspirations. He gives us a new heart, one divine in nature and one where we are bound and tightly tied to His life as our source of life.
These holy desires are birthed as a direct result of our personal and intimate relationship with our Lord. The desires we inhabit are not ones that take a license to collect things of this world in a materialistic way or to follow our own selfish ambition.
These desires are God-desires.
When we join in Holy Spirit union; praying, interceding and intimately seeking God and His desires, He sees the intent of our hearts are in Him. God will see us setting aside our own will, our own methods, our own wanting, our own desires and He replaces selfish living with selfless giving of ourselves in His continually pouring into us His Spirit of refreshing, renewal and reviving.
It is God and God alone who pursues each of us with a holy passionate love and when we come face to face with His chaste, pure unmanipulated love we are drawn towards an ever-increasing desire to be with Him, be in Him and seek Him all the days of our lives.
When we have encountered the Holy One who captivates our souls, whose life blood is intricately intertwined within the tattered fabric of our flawed humanity, we know true and real love.
God is God All the time and not according to our own self designed concepts. God is greater and above anyone we have ever known or will know as He is supernatural and divine in origin.
God is not just an idea or a theology or a concept. God is a living being who comes to meet our need, our greatest need of belonging and our need of being fully accepted. When we encounter God and His love we are fully acknowledged and fully loved.
No one will ever convince me of the unreality of God as I have experienced Him as this living being who cares beyond any comprehensive way that I could describe. I know God to be authentic, true, faithful, and consistent in His love for me. He has proved this over the 45 years I have walked with Him, getting to know Him deeper, wider, and more expansive.
Christians and humans have expectations on others. They love with strings, with requirements, with an agenda and a motivation that lacks purity, lacks total empathy and lacks the type of caring and compassion others need.
If we were honest as a Christian community, we would open ourselves up to question the way we treat others and if we can offer others such a love as God has offered to us and pours into us each minute we willingly receive.
As a Christian human being, I know I am not perfect and must surrender my biases, my prejudgments along with my expectations upon others to meet some sort of requirement where they are worthy to receive the love I give - but no one is worthy and no one is deserving - just as I do not merit the free grace of God's rich love in me.
If I can let go of human tendency to be biased, to judge and to allow God to totally consume my spirit with His supernatural ability and divine love where I perceive each person - as His creation and the ones He loves --- how much more can His divinity in me inspire and awaken others to pursue Him as the Holy One who calls us His beloved ones.
Revival is for Christians to rise to the highest calling to be in intimate personal relationship with Christ, to depend and rely on His Spirit who grants all ability and to carry His divine love into this world -- shining light, hope, and grace in the darkness as His people whose hearts beat holiness!
There is no greater gift than this pure love from God and this love is a choice we bear as witnesses to the radical transformation Christ has accomplished in our thoughts, hearts and souls.
We become whom we are as a direct result from spending quality alone time in Christ and being in near relationship and deep fellowship in Him.
It is Jesus who fully completes us and fully satisfies our deepest longings, our yearnings, our needs. Jesus Christ in us becomes our soul sufficiency and source in living this Christian life.
