‘All who heard them pondered them and said, “What then will this child become?” For, indeed, the hand of the Lord was with him.’ Luke 1:66 (NRSV)
As a child of God, we live and move and have our being in Him. With God’s spirit pulsing Christ-life within, we have a seed of potential inside each of us that is sprouting, growing and flourishing to fulfil His unique plans and purposes for us.
The friends and family of Zechariah and Elizabeth asked in wonder, “What will become of this new babe, because with God’s hand upon his life something amazing is sure to happen!” And so it is with us. As God’s mighty hand is upon our life, there is no limit to what He might choose for us to do. No limit to what He can empower us to become. It is exciting and incredibly humbling to consider what lays ahead for us as we allow God to direct our life.
What hinders us to day from surrendering fully to Christ? Can we continue to grow so that we might boldly declare, “As thy will, what thy will and when thy will”? Let’s bow our heart and head today and recommit ourselves to the One whose mighty hand can move in wonderful ways through us.
“Heavenly Father, I confess that in you I live and move and have my being. I can do nothing of real worth and consequence without you. You are my all and you are enough for me. Give me the courage to surrender all of myself to you today and each day, so that I can confidently say, ‘thy will be done’. Amen.”
