Psalm 1 (KJV)
1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
The story of a king and his servant...
A king had a male servant who in all circumstances always said to him; “my king do not be discouraged for everything God does is perfect, no mistakes”. One day while hunting, a wild animal attacked the king but his servant managed to kill it though not before it bit off a finger from the king’s hand. The king was furious and said,” If God was good, I would not have lost my finger in this attack!”
The servant replied that despite what happed, God is good and everything He does is perfect. He is never wrong! The king was outraged! He ordered for the arrest of the servant. While being taken away, the servant still insisted that God is good.
One day, the king went hunting as usual and ended up as captive in the hands of some savages; on their bonfire altar, they realized that he had a missing finger. “This one is incomplete”! They quickly released him and sent him off as is their custom in such cases. When the king reached his palace he ordered that his dear friend and servant be released immediately. He then told him his experience in the hands of the savages and testified that God was truly good to him! But I have a question, “why did He allow me to put you in prison?” With a smile, the servant replied “oh king, if I was not in prison I would have been on the hunting trip with you as usual and since I am ‘complete’ I would have been sacrificed”! EVERYTHING GOD DOES IS PERFECT. HE IS NEVER WRONG.
Often, we complain about life especially when negative things happen to us, we forget that the almighty is orchestrating all things for His good purpose. As they say, “a good attitude determines a man’s altitude”
When you look and, assess your ‘assets’, do you count your blessings and praise God or even blame the devil?
Why not thank God always and in everyway for His many mercies and grace that endure in your life
2 Corinthians 9:8
James 1:17
