For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God. Romans 6:10 NASB
Believers of Christ do not reject or deny the death of Christ. We are certain that Jesus died for us because our salvation depends on it. We don’t hesitate to proclaim and celebrate it. But we are very likely to reject or deny His life daily. How is that? Every time we choose to satisfy our fleshly desires thus pleasing ourselves instead of God, we reject the life of Christ.
We need to remember that Christ died so that we would be free to live to glorify God. His death and resurrection gave us the freedom and power to live a Christlike life, a life of victory over sin. Thus, every time we proclaim His death, we need to remember that there was a resurrection. This indicates that we died and rose with Him, no longer to live for ourselves but for God. The life that Jesus lived, He lived for God. Thus, if we are not living for God, we may still be proclaiming Christ’s death yet rejecting His life.
Let's celebrate Christ live by living it out every day. By this, we don't only celebrate Christ’s death and resurrection by proclaiming it with our lips but with our lives. In doing this we tell the world that our Lord lives and He has given us the power through the HolySpirit to live like Him now and forever. The way we live our lives is an evidence of the work Christ has done and is still doing.
