“And he who had died came out bound hand and foot with grave clothes
and his face was wrapped with a cloth. Jesus said to them, “Loose him, and let him go.”
Life presents us with a lot of challenges, some of them brought about by our actions and inactions and at other times by circumstances beyond our control. Solutions might evade us and other times we are just in a logjam and we will need divine intervention, as such situations have defied all logical solutions.
Jesus tells us that in this world we dwell in we shall have tribulations, now I really don’t know what will bring about tribulation, I can only guess that the world we live in is a fallen world. However Jesus did not close this statement without some form of comfort and reassurance and therefore He urged us to be of good cheer that He has overcome the world on our behalf.
Often we encounter diverse challenges in our daily lives ranging from financial, marital to provision but thank God the bible renders to us different encounters of various characters in same dire situations as we find ourselves today and how God almighty brought them solutions and salvation.
Lets examine the story of Lazarus which by every human understanding was a hopeless case, he was dead for four days; his body rotten and there is no way you will think his condition can be remedied. At first when news of his death came to our savior Jesus Christ it seemed He didn’t care because he didn’t attend to the matter immediately, secondly as humans no one thought he could do anything about the issue since he stayed too long to respond and the matter had become hopeless. Have we not all been caught up in situations where we feel hopeless, and can’t see any solution in sight, and we are even worn out by endless prayer sessions. But where God is concerned there is never a delay only divine timing. So when master Jesus Christ shows up and does what no one ever expected, as the scripture says Gods thought and ways are not like ours, so He calls out Lazarus after giving thanks to the Father and raises Lazarus from the dead. In the same way the Father is still doing the same miracles through His son Jesus Christ intervening in the lives of His children whom He loves so much and demonstrated this by sending His son and most prized possession to die for us.
Another interesting account is the story of our patriarch Abraham, who literally had it all, abundance of wealth and power. But one thing he needed the most was a child which he didn’t have at the age of more than seventy and the wife was also along same age range. As if this situation wasn’t discouraging enough for any human being the bible plunges us into another revelation concerning their case. It revealed the old age of Abraham and the bareness of Sarah, the situation was so hopeless that even when a heavenly message came to them about having a child Sarah laughed probably saying in her heart “this messengers must be joking a grandma like me” though when confronted she denied laughing. But this did not stop God from fulfilling His promise to them; at the appointed time they indeed had a child as the Lord promised. This particular account demonstrates to us how Gods supernatural nature and intervention can suspend natural laws to bring to pass that which He has promised. Even our senses can never phantom how this happens; all we know is that God in such situations has performed a miracle. God our Father cares for us that much and if He needs to suspend natural laws for our sake He will do it over and over again.
The wedding at canna is another classic story of God intervening in a situation that would have been catastrophic to an occasion like a wedding. Jesus while attending a wedding the wine got finished. For the groom, bride and guests hearing about this must have caused a panic or brought about this kind of feeling to those wedding or the organizers: of: what are we going to do now? But thank God master Jesus was at the wedding; His mother Mary who was also at the wedding heard about the situation and approached Him to do something about it. He then instructed the servants to fill the empty jars with water and go serve the guests. Voila! Wine of the finest quality as attested by the master of banquet was made available. From human thinking or analysis Jesus solution did not make sense; how do you reconcile water turning into wine? But that is how God intervenes in our lives when we are stuck in a situation and need urgent help. Brethren there is no situation so hopeless that can overwhelm Gods ability to bring us solutions. Lastly lets never forget that His ways or thoughts are beyond us.
There are many other examples like the woman with the issue of the blood, the widow at Zarephath, parting of the red sea for the Israelites who were fleeing Egypt, the feeding of the five thousand and many other such testimonies, demonstrating Gods power, love and ability to bring us succor and deliverance when caught up in a challenge. We can go on and on sighting more examples of such situations even those that defied human interventions, the ones that even lasted so long before Jesus showed up to change the story. He is in the business of deliverance and salvation up till this day so we must never give up hope.
Finally are you in a situation right now, well do not loose hope and don’t entertain any worry for God will come through for you. Form a habit of casting all your cares on Him for He cares for you. Just be of good cheer for Jesus has overcome the world for us, He has conquered the forces that would have defeated us so that our portion is victory at all times. Go ahead and rejoice even in your trials for this is His commandment to us, do not worry about a thing, Jesus has got your back always for He will never leave us or forsake us no matter the circumstances.
