Chose life eternal-In Christ alone
The one thing that everyone wants is life and thus the desire to live more leads us to hospitals and gyms where we try to restore our health for a long and healthy living.
And if we are so concerned about a long life, how about the eternal life?
What is eternal life and how can we attain it? Can any doctor prescribe a medicine for this? The answer is no (except in the cartoon series and children’s television programs, where the villain is desperate to drink the green liquid which will make him immortal, however later the actor prevents him from doing so and kills him.)
Jesus said…
“And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. “
John 17:3 NKJV
Yes! Knowing God as He is and acknowledging and accepting His love and grace bestowed unto us through Jesus Christ entitles us to eternity with God.
Like it or not, we are eternal beings and will abide until eternity, however where it will be is what we chose in this limited span of our years on this planet earth.
We can ignore to know God and His goodness and live a dry and fruitless life similar to a branch that separates itself from the tree or we can choose to abide in Christ and be fruitful until eternity.
“I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.” John 15:5 NKJV
Starting to know God is the beginning of a blessed new life and our continual perusal to know Him more and more everyday will transform us towards more blessedness and contentment.
Paul, who was a mighty preacher of God expresses his desire in this manner…
“that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death,” Philippians 3:10 NKJV
Do we know the Lord our God? Are we in continual pursuit of His goodness? Do we hunger and thirst for Him?
The Psalmist prays in this manner….….
As the deer pants for the water brooks,
So pants my soul for You, O God.
My soul thirsts for God, for the living God.
When shall I come and appear before God?[
Psalm 42:1-2 NKJV
Let us seek Him more and more, for He is worthy of being known, loved and worshipped.
Let’s choose eternal life with Jesus Christ.
God Bless,
Abraham
