TITLE: RELATIONSHIPS ARE PERSONAL WITH GOD
THOUGHT FOR TODAY: “I will draw closer to God”
SCRIPTURE: Isaiah 55:6, "Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near." (KJV)
If you are a certain age, you may remember getting personal care and service wherever you ventured to. Service stations would pump your gas, clean your windshields, and inflate your car tires if they were low. Dress or shoe stores would give you personalized service. Doctors made house calls. Maybe the last statement is a little too far back. Today, personal care or relationships seem to be a thing of the past. The new age of technology has changed the way we communicate with one another. A lot of our relationships are handled through a computer on social media.
However, it is refreshing to know that whenever we want to talk to the Lord. Especially, if the need is urgent...just say Jesus, help me. Also, the great thing about calling on the name of our Lord; He wants us to spend time with Him too. Why? Relationships are personal with God. Therefore, our personal relationship begins with God through Jesus Christ. Isaiah 55:6 says, "Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near." (KJV)
If you know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, now is your time to really, really get to know Him. For the simple fact, one day it is not going to be so easy to call upon the name of the Lord. There are things happening in our free society today, which threatens the moral fiber of our religious freedom. Also, according to the Book of Revelation, humanity's relationship with the Lord will eventually change. Satan is going to make sure of that. People are going to blaspheme God during this turbulent time in the world’s existence as it will be known, rather than repent and turn to Him (Revelation 16:9, 11, 21.) Now is the time to call upon the Lord while He is near.
On the other hand, computers, tablets and smart phones cannot help in the relationship building with God. These things are made by the world. They are nice and convenient to own. But, they cannot handle spiritual matters with Him; which is establishing a personal relationship with God by faith through Jesus Christ. The human heart was created by God, to prompt us to have fellowship with Him. Why? Our relationship with God is spiritual in nature; handled personally by Him. We worship God in Spirit and in Truth. The "Truth" is Jesus Christ (John 14:6). He is the Word that was made Flesh; to take away the sin of the world. Seek the Lord today, which is the “present.” Yesterday is in the “past”, which makes seeking the Lord too late. “Tomorrow” is the future; but, tomorrow is not promised to us. God deals in real time. He is presently with us today. This is why today, is a “present/gift” to us at the moment from God. Joy and Blessings to you!

SALVATION PRAYER:“My friend…Are you willing to surrender your life to Jesus Christ today? The choice is yours. If you are reading this devotional and you do not have a “personal relationship” with the Lord and you would like to know how to receive this free and precious gift. God wants every human that passes through this life to know there is hope through Jesus Christ. Therefore, Romans 6:23 states, “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord”. As a result, any person who wants to be reconciled with God; can kneel or stand right where they are and repeat this prayer: “Lord, I know that I am a sinner and I have not been living the life You want me to live. I can never live this type of life without Your help and strength. I am asking You Lord, to please forgive me for my sins. Lord Jesus, I believe that You paid the penalty for my sins on the cross and You have risen again. I am opening the door of my heart for You Lord Jesus to live and take control of my life. I surrender my mind, body, soul and spirit to You as my Lord and Savior. Lord, thank You for hearing my prayer and giving me the gift of eternal life. Amen!” After repeating this prayer, you are now part of the family of God. Jesus has made a special invitation and a promise to everyone that opens the door of his or her heart to Him. He states in Revelations 3:20, “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.” I pray that you will dine with Jesus today!
