Unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies
Does death produces new life and sacrifice of self lead to an abundance of life?
Jesus often used examples and parables to explain the in-depth knowledge of the kingdom of God, and this time He used the example of a grain or a seed…
The grain that is sown in the ground decays and dies to produce new life, however if the grain chooses not to be sown, or lose its identity or decay and die, it will be good for nothing except to be placed as a display of an unchanging grain for all to see.
“Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain.”
John 12: 24 NKJV
Parents bring up their children’s sacrificially, the love they show towards them is well understood when they sacrifice their comforts and luxuries to give the best to their children.
The salvation which we so badly needed could not be had except by the sacrificial death of the unblemished Lamb of God and thus Christ in His love chose to die for us so we may have the new and abundant life.
As we minister to this world the love of Jesus, we can never do it best unless we let go our own pride and prejudice, our reservations and all that withholds us from displaying freely the love of Jesus.
“Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.”
Galatians 6:2 NKJV
“Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.”
Philippians 2:3-4 NKJV
There are many barren lands in this world which have never seen the sight of live, who will be the seed that will go there, wear self out sacrificing its own comforts to give life and joy so the barren lands may be populated with life again?
Christ can be seen in us as we have inherited the new life from Him, and He desires furthermore to be seen in many others who will know about this new life through us.
The grain was fallen, bruised, crushed and lost its life on Calvary (rose again the third day) and now lives in us to reach many other precious souls.
God Bless,
Abraham
