‘Say ah.’
I have vivid memories of childhood trips to our Chittenango, New York doctor’s office. He had a large waiting room; when ailing, waiting was miserable. I listened for the busy nurse to call my name.
‘Pamela.’
Mom took me by the hand; while the plump nurse in white starched uniform led us to into the doctor’s private office. After he questioned mom on my symptoms, he began his routine examination. He checked my eyes, ears and listened to my chest with a cold stethoscope.
I saw the large wooden tongue depressor coming my way.
‘Open wide.’
‘Say ah.’
Sometimes ah says it best.
“I prayed to the Lord, saying: ‘Ah, Lord God! Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm. There is nothing too hard for You (Jeremiah 32:16-17 NKJV).”
With Him all things are possible.
Ah!
