As Jesus looked up, he saw the rich putting their gifts into the temple treasury. He also saw a poor widow put in two very small copper coins. “Truly I tell you,” he said, “this poor widow has put in more than all the others. All these people gave their gifts out of their wealth; but she out of her poverty put in all she had to live on.” Luke 21:1-4 NIV
What Jesus is speaking about in these verses is the idea of sacrificial giving. The rich even though they put in more money, were not really making a sacrifice. Instead, they were giving from their abundance. They did not have to really sacrifice to give what they did. Yet, the poor lady gave out of her need. She knew she would do without basic requirements because she gave. This is a true sacrificial giving.
Money is not the only form of sacrificial giving. Giving of ones time or giving material possessions can also be sacrificial giving. When we give, you can be sure that the Lord has searched our heart. He knows if we our giving from an abundance, or if a true sacrifice is being made in offering the gift.
Christ has told us that we must put the needs of others ahead of those of our own. We must be the servant of all. We must humble ourselves if we wish to be exalted.
It is not wrong to give from abundance, but also make sure that you provide gifts which require true sacrifice. This will please our Lord.

Great article so true in giving. The greatest was Jesus Christ as a sacrifice. Thank you for reading a great article
