When he came near the place where the road goes down the Mount of Olives, the whole crowd of disciples began joyfully to praise God in loud voices for all the miracles they had seen: “Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord!” “Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!” Some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to Jesus, “Teacher, rebuke your disciples!” “I tell you,” he replied, “if they keep quiet, the stones will cry out.” Luke 19:37-40 NIV
How often do you take time just to praise God? Do you praise Him not just for what He has done for you, but, also for who He is? This world would tell you not to waste your time. “God is dead” they would say. “Live for yourself” would be their cry.
God deserves our praise because He is God. When one praises God they truly become alive, full of true life. One cannot truly praise God and not feel alive.
We do also want to praise God for all that He has done for us. We must ever be mindful of the many blessings which He bestows on us.
Can you imagine what it would look like to see a stone cry out the praises of God. It sure would look odd, yet Jesus said if those who were praising Him were to be silenced, the stones would cry out. Don’t believe it? Remember, with God all things are possible.
At the second coming of Christ, every voice in the heavens, and the earth, in the sea and the ground will cry out that Jesus is Lord!
Take time often to praise God. You will find that when do so that you are full of new energy, vigor, and you have a heart which is truly alive!
