Peace while hurt.
Why does the Lord allow sufferings and pain in our life?
Does believing in God guarantees us a life free from all troubles and worries?
Lazarus was sick unto death and this news came to Jesus…
“Lord, behold, he whom You love is sick.” John 11:3 NKJV
Recently I had the privilege to read ‘Beloved-Yet afflicted, by C.H.Spurgeon’ (free electronic copy is available at http://www.chapellibrary.org/literature/title-catalog?fldTitle=beloved-+yet+afflicted).
(I must admit that my attempt to explore and explain the above verse in John 11:3 would not even be close to how the ‘Prince of Preachers-C.H.Spurgeon’ has wonderfully portrayed this in ‘Beloved-Yet afflicted’, thus I would encourage you to download the free copy and read it.)
In allowing afflictions in our life, God is not alienating Himself from us, but rather desires that we should become more strong and perfect.
James explains this well when he says…
“My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.” James 1:2-4 NKJV
Thus all our trials lead us to our perfection and strength, for God is always with us.
God knows our pain and the daily struggles we go through, yet in all of this, the best fact is that, He is always with us and will deliver us from all our fears.
“Whenever God means to make a man great, he always breaks him in pieces first.”
C H Spurgeon
Let not the troubles and worries break us down, but rather may we seek this as an opportunity to pray and every burden at His feet to lay. Peace will then come to our hurting souls, when the love of God will transform us in whole.
God Bless,
Abraham
