Marriage
Confusion of tongues and lack of understanding amongst men is a deeply spiritual issue
This is a tool that is often used by our arch enemy numero uno, to create the right kind of atmosphere to help vehement hatred and strife THRIVE!
When there is misunderstanding between two people it is the basis for quarrel, confusion and even war!
Scenario A:
A married couple; always quarrelling, never at peace, pure hatred spewed as they encountered each other daily; both always seem to speak a different language as they communicate… spiritually they are actually speaking different languages,on different wave lengths; though in the physical they speak the same language.
Just like at the building of the Tower…
Genesis 11:1-9 that . . . the whole earth was of one language and of one speech.
And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar; and they dwelt there.
And they said to one another, Go to, let us make brick, and burn them thoroughly. And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for mortar.
And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.
And the Lord came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded.
And the Lord said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they began to do:
and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.
Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech.
So the Lord scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth:and they left off to build the city.Therefore is the name of it called Babel;
because the Lord did there confound the language of all the earth:and from thence did the Lord scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth.
Nimrod, grandson of Ham, the son of Noah, a bold man, and of great strength, a conceited man who had grown in might and status; he urged and convinced the people to disrespect and stand in contempt of God. He was a great orator who convinced them of great power that would come to them as they embarked upon this venture, which would launch them into greatness and high esteem and above all, not to ascribe it to God. He encouraged them to believe in their own personal courage and intellect which brings fulfilment when ‘logically’ planned. Dictatorship became his manner of rule as he gradually dominated the people’s minds and coerced them away from the fear of the almighty to fear of and dependence on his own power. He also said he would be revenged on God, if he should have a mind to drown the world again; for that he would build a tower too high for the waters to be able to reach! And that he would avenge himself on God for destroying their forefathers! The multitude were swayed by Nimrod’s confidence and determination, and began to follow his line of thought that, to ascribe any of their achievements to God was a sign of cowardice to submit to God. They embarked on the building of the tower, neither sparing pain, nor being in any point casual about the work: and because of their large numbers in employ of the job, the building became a gargantuan reality in no time, It was built of burnt brick, cemented together with mortar, made of bitumen, so as not to be able to admit water. As the almighty viewed this mad act, he did not allow himself to be moved into total annihilation mode of the human race once again, rather he caused an uproar among them, by confusing their language of agreement, and causing that, through the multitude of those languages, they should not be able to understand one another. The place wherein they built the tower is now called Babylon, Hebrew term for confusion.
When permanent confusion has taken residence in a home, what is to be expected is PERMANENT chaos; disrespect, insult slinging, harassment, name-calling, back biting of the one with ‘friends’ and family, all-in-all, deep rooted hatred. One persons says ‘A’, the other person hears ‘B’. No matter how often the one repeats ‘A’ or tries to explain that he is saying ‘A’, the other cannot understand, the language is confused at a higher level than them. They need to call out to the most High for HELP! fighting the battle at hand as ONE. Disunity is the weapon of the devil and the deeper the confusion in a home the better for the enemy who is bent on destroying it.
Only God can intervene and restore understanding where there are many cracks in the wall that has been carelessly left to the harshness and severity of environmental conditions and the elements that continually attack marital relationships.
