There was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews
Very accustomed to spiritual things, studying, teaching Gods Word, sits in the Church’s pews.
He knew Jesus was a teacher sent from God, yet he came to Jesus in the secrecy of night.
Hoping to learn more about him, the miracles he did, while gaining some refuge from the blackness of night.
He was ignorant of his own dire needs after all he was a ruler in the land that his feet trod.
Jesus immediately told him, except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
This was startling to Nicodemus, as you see him ask, how can these things be?
Jesus mused, if this man lived his life as a ruler of the Jews, being a Master in Israel, only to be deceived?
Can a man be born when he is old, can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb?
The Lord laid out to him, what is born of flesh will always be flesh, housed in an earthly tomb.
Jesus told him, except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God, for man is still corrupt
As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up.
That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life, now being born again.
Now loosed from the chains of darkness, set free from the iron shackles and bondage of sin.
As babies desire a mother’s milk, we, as newborn babes in Christ desire the sincere milk of the word.
The same Word that before brought us condemnation is now the most precious thing that we’ve heard.
The Bible tells us to examine ourselves, whether we are in the faith, to make our calling and election sure.
Make sure you get to Jesus the Great Physician, and have been partaker of his everlasting cure.
For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life.
In conclusion, we are like the children of Israel, having been bitten, condemned to death by the fiery serpent of sin.
Yet, we only need to look upon Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, cast, and keep your eyes upon him.
