Proverbs 17 : 28; 10 : 19; Ecclesiastes 9 : 17;
The world has an idiomatic expression; talk is cheap!
The bible opens our eyes to see that there is FOLLY in a multitude of words! Then how do we draw a wise line between being an orator blessed with a gift to move his listeners to great heights of emotions and the acquisition of a command of language to simply talk without end, shooting out a missilenof words in order to be seen and identified in a crowd out of ego and exaggerated self esteem reasons against silent assesment of a situation and environment before a person sends out words
The question about ' talking too much ' came up because it seems to be the way of the world at the moment.
Talking; using words to outdo the next man; sarcasm gift wrapped and dripping through fine linen , 'intelligent' conversations devoid of humanity and substance, where each participant goes away with a sour taste in their mouths and vehement hatred of one another!
In politics, in the work place, sports, during various types of human endeavour even where too many words are not necessary... some people just can not stop, spilling out words by the dozen with the 'speed of sound'!
The church is not excluded! It is a preacher's place and calling to TALK whilst teaching, but where is the line drawn in the scenario of spitting out fine sounding words,prancing about on the stage with loud clamouring to force feed the congregation and bully them into understanding submission/forced acceptance of the pastor's showmanship without questions against, divinely passing on knowledge from the throne of grace sent through a holy and humble vessel. What is the duty of the holy spirit? Is this the biblical way to pass on the good news of redemption? James 1:19
Psalm 19 : 14
Can unnecessary use of words make a Christian end up in hellfire? possibly YES, only the most High knows but I only read between the fine lines of His words And follow good and divine advice! A wise person listens more and speaks less while creating a receptive connection and channel with the Lord so that he can only speak what is divine.
Finally, the wise words that saves a soul from self damnation through the meditation of the heart and words of the mouth are found in ... Matthew 5 : 37
