Gospel
The bible says if we confess Jesus before men that he will also confess us before God and the angels. If we are saved, when we see Jesus we will not be ashamed if we have followed him wholly and kept his Word and confessed him before men, like the bible tells us to do.
Matthew 10:32(KJV): Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.
10:33(KJV): But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.
Luke 12:8(KJV): Also I say unto you, Whosoever shall confess me before men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God:
Revelation 3:5(KJV): He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I was confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.
Some people will not confess Jesus before men because they love the praise of men more than the praise of God. John 12:42(KJV): Nevertheless among the chief rulers also many believed on him; but because of the Pharisees they did not confess him, lest they should be put out ot the synagogue.
I Thessalonians 2:4(KJV): But as we were allowed of God to be put in trust with the gospel, even so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God, which trieth our hearts.
Galations 1:10(KJV): For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.
Confessing Jesus with our mouth also gives assurance of our own salvation.
Romans 10:9(KJV): That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Saved Christians should not be ashamed to confess Christ. After all he's done for us, it would be so wrong for us to not confess that we are just a sinner deserving of hell, but saved by the mercy of God through Christ's sacrifice on the cross and ressurrection.
Mark 8:38(KJV): Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.
Romans 10:11(KJV): For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
Confessing means telling people how to be saved through trusting Christ. No one will ever be saved unless they hear the gospel and no one will ever hear the gospel unless someone tells them, whether through a printed tract, a sermon, or a one-on-one conversation, etc. That is God's plan or blueprint for saving souls. So not being ashamed of the gospel, will keep people out of hell because of the power of the gospel.
Romans 1:16(KJV): For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ; for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
