Self-preservation is a natural instinct. Unless mentally unstable, we have the will to survive. Life is precious and we want to live.
Though trouble is a frequent uninvited visitor, we like this world that we call home.
We cherish relationships with family and friends.
Finding fulfillment, in the workplace or in ministry, we see God’s purpose in our lives.
Seeing God in nature, we view each sunrise & sunset as a part of his creation. We receive them as gifts from above.
Life is to be lived to the fullest!
King Saul had threatened to kill David; while in hiding, David’s life had been in jeopardy. He experienced fear and the drive for self-preservation.
Yet, he experienced a life force greater than his own…
“O God, You are my God;
Early will I seek You;
My soul thirsts for You;
My flesh longs for You
In a dry and thirsty land
Where there is no water.
So I have looked for You in the sanctuary,
To see Your power and Your glory.
Because Your lovingkindness is better than life,
My lips shall praise You.
Thus I will bless You while I live;
I will lift up my hands in Your name.
My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness,
And my mouth shall praise You with joyful lips (Psalm 63:1-5 NKJV).”
