Nature of a Proverb
by Robert Schaetzle 298 words
‘The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.’ [Proverbs 9:10 NKJV]
Proverbs are generalizations and predictions to give value, purpose, and hope; for things yet unseen, and to recognize, God’s Proverbs are not always promises. But reading one chapter for each corresponding day of the month, since there are 31 chapters of proverbs, this might result to committing oneself to daily reading through the bible each year. His wisdom and knowledge in our walk by faith will provide this ‘knowledge of the Holy One’ with a deeper significance to better discern His ways.
A message I presented one Sunday, ‘Built up together into a Dwelling of God’ I shared how we’re never alone in our spiritual journey of walking by faith. The Apostle Paul tells us from Corinthians 3:16, ‘Do you not know that you are the Temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?’ Since I am a representation to reflect the ‘True light’ of our lord, my hope and purpose is; [1] to want to know Him with greater intimacy, and [2] be better prepared to share the love and grace of His knowledge of wisdom. His truth in testimony is far greater than any human reasoning and ability.
Whether one is called to preach, or show a moment of His love to another over lunch, having greater knowledge and Godly wisdom, will help us to discern how to better display our Lord’s affection and compassion. Knowing more of His wise counsel in us, will result in a stronger relationship with our Lord, and give us better confidence to share with others.
