What are We Waiting For – by Stephanie M. White Ecclesiastes 11:4 (NLT) Farmers who wait for perfect weather never plant. If they watch every cloud, they never harvest. We will never have perfect circumstances and we will never have perfect conditions. Life isn't perfect, but our God is! He is limitless; our circumstances do not discourage Him in the least. We look for the perfect moment, the perfect chance, but God tells us to look for Him. God tells us to remain focused on things of eternal value rather than the temporary (Colossians 3:2) and that is just what we must do if we're ever going to take a step of faith. Faith is based on God's Word, not what we can see. Faith is based on God's Word, not our circumstances. Faith is based on what our God can do - not what we can do on our own. Our God can make a way where there is no way - we simply need to believe it. "Simply believing it" is not something we can do on our own. Faith comes from hearing the Word (Romans 10:17), so we need the Word if we are going to have faith. We need the Word on our God's ability if we are going to ignore our circumstances. We need to fill ourselves with His boundless promises. We need to be in agreement with our God when He says nothing is impossible for Him. The more we take in His Word regarding His power, the less we will be controlled by our circumstances. What are you waiting for right now? What do you feel limited by? Your God is waiting for you to come to Him. He is waiting for you to set your mind on what He can do, rather than your ability.
