The decor of your home is important. It is what makes the difference between a peaceful and a chaotic environment. There are many different ideas that you may choose to incorporate in your home decor. One of the classy ideas is the use of the rustic mirror. These accessories create a peaceful and warm ambience.
There are different options that you may consider when it comes to possessing these classy items. You may choose to buy the rustic wooden mirror frames from the antique shops. However, if you are concerned with the look and not necessarily the quality of the material, then you may choose to make your own frames. This option will allow you to make a unique and elegant design. It is also cost effective.
How To Make The Frame
You will need to have the right materials and tools for this project. You will need to find the perfect wood for the job. Instead of buying the wood and trying to make it look rustic, you may choose to use the recycled wood frames. This will help you to create that antique look. You will also need a pine board that you will use to attach the mirror to it. The pine wood should be large enough to hold the size of the mirror you want. It is important for you to know the size of the mirror. This will help you in determining the size of wood you need to cut. To determine the right size, you need to measure the mirror and cut the wood into the required size.
You should now proceed to cut the wood into the required size. You will need four pieces of wood. You need not cut them in perfect size so as to create the rustic look you need. You will need to also choose the wood stain you want for your rustic wooden mirror.
Once you cut the recycled wood frames, you need to stain it first. Apply the chosen wood stain on two of the pieces and allow them to dry. You may however be required to sand the wood first- that is, if the wood is treated. For that rustic feature, you may spray white paint on the remaining pieces. Only apply one coat lightly.
You need to have screws that you will use to fix the pieces together. Take the wood pieces after they have dried completely and screw them together. You will need to make some holes in the boards first. Again, stain the boards and leave them to dry. Take the mirror using the mirror hooks and attach it to the frame.
For that rustic look, you may choose to use the pallets. The weathered wood may also give you great results.
You will need to consider the space you will want to hang the mirror in. This is because the space, will very much determine the final look of the mirror. For that classy look, you may choose to use two different rustic mirrors instead of one big one.
We have a wide selection of high-quality distressed photo frames, recycled wood frames, recycled wood frames and rustic wooden mirror available at affordable costs.
