We allow others to grieve openly; yet, when we suffer loss of a loved one, a broken relationship, or a sudden loss of income, we try to hide our sorrow. There is no shame in sorrow. Consider the Savior; he was a man of sorrows.
“He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised , and we esteemed him not. Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken , smitten of God, and afflicted (Isaiah 53:3-4 KJV).”
Read that passage again slowly; allow the words to penetrate your broken heart. Christ Jesus not only cares about your sorrows; he carries them. Through his ongoing intercession, in our behalf, he carries our sorrows to the Father.
