Opening Hymn: 367 Rescue the Pershing
Closing Hymn: 279 Only Trust Him
Scripture Reading Psalms 119:126-127 126 It is time for thee, LORD, to work: for they have made void thy law. 127 Therefore I love thy commandments above gold; yea, above fine gold.
DECEPTION; an act or statement intended to make people believe something that is not true
Today’s world of do what-ever feels good, portrays a very popular and spiritually dangerous notion that what-ever you believe is right; and if you sincerely believe and live out these convictions, then that is all God requires. As long as you are sincere, you’re ok, besides we are all going to better place after this life, though some take a different route, we all arrive at the same point.
This is the thinking and teaching of today’s so called progressives and new agers, and some Christians, and as the saying goes; “we are all headed for the same place, and there is more than one way to get to heaven. All good and sincere people will go to heaven.
The homosexual agenda, the entertainment industry, the courts, and the educational systems are all portraying and teaching that homosexuality and same sex marriage is a normal and acceptable human trait, even though it has been looked upon as an unnatural, unhealthy, vile mental disorder for the past thousands of years.
We now have Christian Churches performing same sex marriages and calling them holy, welcoming gays in as Pastors and Teachers ,and hundreds of pastors now applauding the same sex marriage ruling, signing petitions stating, “It’s time the Church caught up with the times”
Former President Jimmy Carter, who claims to be a born again Christian and a Sunday School Teacher, made the following statement following the court’s ruling making same sex marriages legal, “... I believe Jesus would approve gay marriage, but that's just my own personal belief. I think Jesus would encourage any love affair if it was honest and sincere and was not damaging to anyone else, and I don't see that gay marriage damages anyone else,”
Now this man claims to be a teacher of the Bible, I am not sure what Bible he uses, but it must be the same one that tells him Sunday is God’s Holy Sabbath.
Then there is Rick Warren, a well- known evangelist from the west coast, with millions of followers, espousing that there would be gays in heaven.
And then we have Joel Osteen’s wife, recently preaching a sermon and making the following statement; “ “We don’t attend Church to please God, God is not pleased by us coming to church, we attend church to please ourselves and not God.”
Along with the Christian culture acquiescing to these popular and politically correct beliefs, you have the political side with their agenda against the true Christian beliefs;
Hillary Clinton made the following statement at the Women of the World conference back in April 2015; “Deep seated cultural codes, Religious beliefs, and structural biases have to change.” This in reference to the Christian revolt against same sex marriage and abortion.
Immediately following the court’s ruling on same sex marriage, the president of the USA made the following comment; Those who disagree with the idea of gay marriage based, for example, on their religious views, must change to be more like progressives who accept gay marriage.” The Examiner 6/27/15 then further stating, “And those, (homosexuals) who have come so far on their journey to equality have a responsibility to reach back and help others join them”
I’m sorry, but I don’t see a need for their help. I put my faith, truth and trust in Jesus Christ and his Holy Word.
Then to add insult to injury we don’t want to leave out the Vice President- Joe Biden, who claims to be a Christian, making the following comments during a speech to a LGBT group in Washington, DC back in March of 2015 ; "We're never going to be able to eliminate the bigots," Biden continued his rant. "They're a small percentage of the population."
“They'll continue to be vocal," Biden conceded. "But make one thing absolutely clear, folks, they are an incredibly smaller and smaller minority. This country is changing."
The vice president then resorted to name calling, insinuating that Carson and others who ascribe to the biblical view of homosexuality should be eradicated from the planet in the name of "equality" and "tolerance."
Are these politicians, leaders and preachers teaching tolerance or hate? You decide, but God will have the last laugh.
Seems like when Iran supposedly made a similar statement to wipe Israel off the map, the news media went ballistic, but there has been not a peep from the media on this statement to wipe a segment of the population out because their view is different from yours.
The doors are being opened for the persecutions of the Christians to begin in earnest and with the blessings of the leaders of this once great, God fearing nation, and along with the so called Christian pastors and Churches who believe it is better to please man and his political agenda than God, things are going to get very heated and you will see the separation of the wheat and tares as the lukewarm Christians follow popular public opinion.
With all these politicians and preachers attacking the true word of God, we see a concerted effort to silence and eliminate, once and for all, the voice of God calling for His people to come home.
Turn in your Bibles to 2 Thessalonians 2:11,12
2 Thessalonians 2:11,12 11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
Paul said that God would send a strong delusion, that we should believe a lie and in Mark 13:22 Jesus is also making reference to being deluded into believing a lie when He said, …. to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect.
Citing my former references of the Evangelist, politicians and the Government telling people that the gay lifestyle is normal and holy, can you see the connection of even the elect possibly being deceived.
Adolph Hitler’s propaganda chief, Joseph Goebbells once Said, “If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it.”
The Changing of the Sabbath Day from the seventh day (Saturday) to the 1st day (Sunday) is proof of that.
And if we look at yet another scripture we get a good idea as to what a portion of that delusion is, and at the same time see how accurate the Bible is in predicting the times we are presently in; that being the end times, and the very soon appearing, of Jesus as He comes for His faithful and obedient servants.
Look in Romans 1:24-27
24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
Now that the Supreme Court of the United States has given the green light that legally recognizes same sex marriages, you will see a rash of civil and criminal moves in the persecutions of the faithful Christian churches and culture, which will make the recent attacks against the baker and the florist pale in comparison. The true Christians will not waver in the face of these attacks, but, the lukewarm Christian (the tares) will fall, joining Satan in eternal damnation.
In the court’s ruling against Aaron and Melissa Klein, the Oregon bakers, (who refused to make a cake for a lesbian couples wedding) to pay $135,000 in damages for their emotional suffering, they also placed a gag order on the Kliens, ordering them to not talk or speak about Christianity, to which the Kliens replied;
“"We will NOT give up this fight, and we will NOT be silenced. We stand for God's truth, God's word and freedom for ALL Americans. We are here to obey God not man, and we will not conform to this world. If we were to lose everything it would be totally worth it for our Lord who gave his one and only son, Jesus, for us! God will win this fight!" Oregonian (Portland, OR) July 6, 2015
Will you stand and be that brave when the persecutors come and shut your business down, or force you from your source of income for standing firm, and not falling for the deceptions? Folks the persecutions are heating up, and following the recent Supreme Court’s ruling for same sex marriages, it’s only going to increase in intensity.
The couple in Oregon , Aaron and Melissa Klein, ordered to pay $135,000 for their beliefs, followed Peter and the apostles example as shown in Acts 5:29 when they were jailed and ordered to refrain from speaking about Jesus and the Gospel
Acts 5:29 Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men
There is an interesting story in 1st Kings 13 which gives a very good illustration of what being deceived by delusion or deception, and the disobedience to Gods will, can bring upon an individual, as well as a nation when they drift away from God.
We are going to look at this story, and I encourage you to read and study this particular chapter in 1st Kings as it deals with how easy a person, as well as a nation can be deceived, and how, if we look around us we can see the same in today’s Christian culture.
The story goes that one of the worst Kings of ancient Israel was a man by the name of Jeroboam. Jeroboam had become apostatized and drifted away from the covenant laws God had made with the Hebrews at Mt. Sinai, leading the people of the ten northern tribes to begin worshipping idols.
Jeroboam ordered two golden calves made, placing one in Dan to the north and one in Bethel, south of Palestine, and for the next 200 years these ten tribes worshipped these calves as gods, turning from the worship of the true God of Israel, which culminated in the Assyrians leading the 10 northern tribes into captivity. Only the tribes of Benjamin and Judah continued to worship and serve the true living God, in Jerusalem.
King Jeroboam built an altar at Bethel, and to inaugurate this new religion he would appoint himself as priest and burn incense at the altar to inaugurate the first sacrifice, but the God of Abraham had a different plan. God sent an unknown prophet from Judah to Bethel to confront Jeroboam of this blasphemous act.
The man of God from Judah made his way to the altar and through the power of God cursed the altar, causing it to break and turn to ashes.
Jeroboam infuriated at this act, stretched out his hand to order his arrest and possible execution, but as he did, God caused Jeroboam’s arm to stiffen, and his hand withered, unable to lower his arm and seeing his withered hand, he cried out for mercy from this mans God. The prophet prayed and God restored Jeroboams hand and arm back to normal.
You would think that after Jeroboam witnessed, and was personally affected by God’s power he would repent and lead the people back to the true God.
Nay, public opinion and pride was more important.
Jeroboam then offered hospitality and a reward to this man sent by God, but he refused, as God had warned him to not eat or drink in this place and to return a different way to Judah.
This man of God was obeying God’s will in confronting Jeroboam of his blasphemous acts and would not partake of any part of this place, even returning by a different route.
God warns us throughout the Bible, the results of disobedience, and of following man and his politically correct agendas, and traditions rather than God. Most see these popular politically correct, government ordered actions and traits as being okay, after all this is the popular trend, falling for these deceptions, even though we have been warned not to.
The story doesn’t end with the man of God returning to Judah safely, but continues as we see how easy a deception can be fostered on unsuspecting and faithful individuals.
As the story continues we see an Old Prophet of Bethel going out after this man of God from Judah and finding him sitting under an Oak tree, convinces him of an angel of God speaking to the old prophet to return with him to his house in Bethel, but the man from Judah again told the old prophet what God had told him; not to eat, drink or return to that place, but the old prophet was relentless and persuaded the man that God had sent him to fetch the man back to Bethel.
After all, he is a prophet of God and if he says an angel spoke to him then why should I not believe him. My own kind would not deceive me with a lie.
The man returned with the prophet and did eat and drink at the prophets table and after they had eaten bread, and drank water, the word of the Lord came to the old prophet;
Let’s look at these verses 1st Kings 13:21-25 21 Thus saith the LORD, Forasmuch as thou hast disobeyed the mouth of the LORD, and hast not kept the commandment which the LORD thy God commanded thee,22 But camest back, and hast eaten bread and drunk water in the place, of the which the Lord did say to thee, Eat no bread, and drink no water; thy carcass shall not come unto the sepulchre of thy fathers.
23 And it came to pass, after he had eaten bread, and after he had drunk, that he saddled for him the ass, to wit, for the prophet whom he had brought back.24 And when he was gone, a lion met him by the way, and slew him: and his carcass was cast in the way, and the ass stood by it, the lion also stood by the carcass.25 And, behold, men passed by, and saw the carcass cast in the way, and the lion standing by the carcass: and they came and told it in the city where the old prophet dwelt.
We see in this story, where a faithful man of God, was sent by God, to prophesy to a rebellious king. This man of God must have been a faithful believer in God’s word and statutes to have traveled to Bethel and maliciously, and dangerously face off the King of Israel, which could surely end in his death for such and act.
But, we then see how easily he was deceived by a fellow prophet, and it cost him his life for not following God’s original command; 1 Kings 13:9 …. Eat no bread, nor drink water, nor turn again by the same way that thou camest.
We today are as that unnamed prophet who fell for the deception coming from his own fellow servant.
Looking at the world we live in we see the Christian culture of this nation falling for all these deceptions, believing that by being politically correct, tolerant to the things which God has forbid, and following the perceived norm alluded to these sinful lifestyles by public opinion, that God is OK with it as long as we believe it to be right.
Can you see the deceptions in this?
We are living in troubled times and it is only going to get worse for those who take Jesus as their Savior, following His commandments and keeping His word in their hearts.
Rev.14:12Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.
Will you follow these lies and deceptions to be politically correct, in order to keep your job or business, or will you stand your ground as the Kliens are doing, even though they are losing their business and livelihood?
The choice is yours.
Choose foolishly as the prophet from Judah and suffer eternal damnation.
Or choose wisely as the Kliens, and the disciples, standing up and refusing to deny Jesus Christ regardless of the consequences. We see in Matthew the results of not standing for Jesus
Matthew 10:32-33 32 Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. 33 But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven
And if we look in Revelation 3 we see again the devastating results of not overcoming the persecutions, as Jesus said He would wipe our names out of the Book of Life.
Jesus said in Revelation 3:5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.
Will you overcome or will you fall for the lie?
The lines have been drawn and you have a life or death decision to make today; you are either on one side of the line are the other, you cannot straddle the fence. You will either stand for Jesus or fall for Satan!
