Poetry
I wandered
On purpose, to a wooded trail
Patched with pavement.
I didn’t wear jogging clothes
Only dress pants and a top
Sturdy shoes
Rain.
I didn’t walk for exercise
Time wasn’t measured
I walked toward You
Wanted to know You
In unmeasured times
For unmeasured reasons
So often I want to allocate
Only a certain amount of time to You
Like I do to my body.
Worship is anything we put in Your place
That we place as sovereign to our souls
Anything we do to honor You
I will seek you first and foremost
Fall for the Holy Ghost
Before my tricks and schemes
And follow Your plan
Like the stream receives the rain.

Sarah, I've not read your work on here for some time. I pray all is well. I want to encourage you to not give up. You are an excellent writer! This is wonderful. To everything there is a season.
Perfect title! There's just nothing that compares to time spent with the Lord. Your poem reads so peacefully, so content... like the walk therein.
Thanks for this, Sarah. You spent time well writing it. I was drawn into your walk with you.
