What first comes to mind when you ponder Jesus earthly ministry? Is it His teaching, healing miracles or raising of the dead? In compassion, He blessed the little children and transformed lives. The Messiah came to seek and save the lost. (Luke 19:10) He fulfilled His earthly mission.
We must not downplay His commitment to communion with the Father. Jesus prayed.
“Now in the morning, having risen a long while before daylight, He went out and departed to a solitary place; and there He prayed (Mark 1:35 NKJ).”
I muse and meditate on the implication of the last section of that passage…
“And there He prayed (Mark 1:35b NKJ).”
God the Son purposely prayed to God the Father. We are not privy to what He prayed at this time but He gave us the privilege to hear a lengthy prayer in John Chapter 17. Note that in that instance, He brought requests for Himself, interceded for His disciples and for all believers. There, in solitude Jesus prayed.
