Prayers
Dear God,
I love that you have a sense of humor. It certainly came out yesterday in full force.
Our water well was giving us problems this weekend. Our reliable well repairperson replaced a needed part. While the issues were happening, our family along with the others who share the well, had no water. It was hard to live with, but doable.
The hubbie felt it best to replace the well filter and housing too. Sunday afternoon, hubbie, neighbor, dog, and I piled into the jeep for a ride to Home Depot and Lowe’s to pick up parts. That part was fun except for being out 3 hours to accomplish the task.
Monday at 7am, hubbie loosened the current cartridge in the well shed. The old cartridge and pipe started leaking and would require more extensive work to replace.
Hubbie came in and asked, “Would you mind emptying the bucket underneath the leak today? I need to go to work.”
I was ok with that until I found out the bucket needed emptied every 20 minutes, all day long. He suggested setting the timer as a reminder, which I did.
This little side job handed to me would have been fine except for the fact that I got up at 3:15am that day to do a huge amount of paper/computer work. I was planning to take a nap after that. It was darn near impossible to nap with only 20-minute lapses.
Feeling somewhat victimized in the latest fiasco at our household, I had just sat down to eat breakfast after my 10th time running outside and hubbie called.
“How’s it going?” he asked all chirpy, as if he did not have a care in the world.
“Your timing is perfect” I exclaimed. “I just read the first line of “Jesus Calling” and it says, “Be prepared to suffer for Me, in My name.”
Hubbie and I had a good laugh. I was totally suffering.
You certainly have the best sense of timing and humor God!
Oh, I put on 80s music throughout the day to stay pumped up until the hubbie came home at 4pm, relieving me of my duties.
