Bless this land that we love so much and bless and keep all of our people. Help us to remember and honor those early American giants, the Founders, who gave so much in order that the United States of America could be born and grow as a Christian nation. And help us to also remember all of those other great Americans who also suffered, often including the ultimate sacrifice, in order to defeat tyrants representing evil in many parts of the world.
Lord, today we are going through trying times. Many believe that the individual is no longer important. Others believe that we need an earthly father, someone other than Thee, the true and living God, to take care of us. They even make fun of our Christianity and belittle and deny the Bible. Give us the strength to always stand for Thee and Thy Word and in so doing to show the deniers the errors of their ways.
At the same time, help us to always practice true Christian charity as Thy Son Jesus commanded us to do. Help us to also love our enemies, just not what they do. Remind us that we are mere sheep that need to be tended by the true Shepherd.
Guide our leaders to take the right path and to be unafraid of keeping the Truth. Keep all of us focused on the real Truth and the prize that awaits us in another world. Help us to return to the spirit of our nation’s birth and give us the determination to redirect our energy and zeal in the proper direction, a direction based upon Thy guidance. At the same time, instill in us the wisdom and courage to not be afraid and to persevere, to always stand for what is right, and to support our brothers and sisters who also do so.
Bless us, keep us, and protect us, especially those suffering and in need.
