Struggles are a part of life,
They come to one and all,
Viewed as simply discipline,
To holiness they call.
A call to suffer for His name,
If that should be His choice,
A willingness to trust Him,
Whatever...still rejoice.
A means to purify our souls,
To willingly lay down,
Our preferences, our hopes, our dreams,
To win a heav'nly crown.
A willingness to rest in faith
Whatever we endure,
To trust He knows the circumstance,
His presence still ensure.
Assurance He'll provide the strength
For all that He allows,
What now seems heavy, without end,
Just is the here and now.
Our future shines with glorious hope,
If we can just endure,
Eternal blessing yet awaits
For what we now incur.
Simply at His feet we bow
To all that He would ask,
And trusting Him to make a way
We move from task to task.
Knowing that He paid the cost
For what my future brings,
I can trust what He allows,
And simply to Him cling.
