Poetry
Sometimes He has to bring you through a drought
To get you ready for the rain;
A season of numbness and unfeeling
Before the dark and heavy pain.
Trust and obey.
Sometimes a valley low leads right up to a hill,
So high, so difficult and rough.
Neither one He promised would be easy,
But that doesn’t mean you cry, “Enough!”
Move forward.
Sometimes you think you’re better off alone
And He shouldn’t even bother.
But when the hard times become worse and worse
Will you find comfort in another?
Don’t look back.
Ahh…thistles bite your arms and legs?
What of His crown of thorns?
So…you’ve got superficial scars?
What of His flesh so torn?
Hmm…your heart is slowly breaking?
What of His Father, forlorn?
Did you see His mother mourn?
Or the Pharisees’ smug scorn?
Suppose…He’d never been born…?
What then?
Sometimes we look through a glass so cloudy
That we just do not understand.
Perhaps we should try being grateful
Only God holds the divine plan.
Trust and obey.
Move forward.
Don’t look back.
What then?
