All IS WELL
While traveling thru Jerusalem,
I stopped to rest along the way.
And I sat down by a little woman,
Just to pass the time of day.
And I asked about her welfare,
And inquired if all was well.
And she said stranger if you have the time,
What a story I can tell.
For 12 long years I suffered,
With an awful blood disease.
And doctor after doctor,
Could neither cure nor give me ease.
But then things changed when I heard about
A man from Galilee.
Who took time to talk to sinners,
And to touch sick folk like me.
I had heard of Bartimeus,
Who’d been sitting by the way,
To perhaps talk to the master,
Who was passing by that day.
“Jesus thou son of David,”
He cried out with all his might.
What wilt thou that I do for you?
Lord, that I might receive my sight.
And immediately he began to see,
They told me it was so.
And what a good old shouting time they had,
On the road to Jericho.
It was there they met Zaccheus,
Who was way up in a tree.
He’d climbed up there to take a chance,
The master for to see.
Then Jesus said “Make haste, come down
I’ll go home with you today.”
My you should’ve seen him come down that tree,
‘Cause of what the master had to say.
Then I met a little girl named Mary
Who from seven demons were cast
She had looked for love in many a place
But had found it now at last
And when she’s with the master,
You’ll find her at his feet.
Soaking up those gracious words,
That dropped, from lips so sweet.
So I asked the question to myself,
Can all these folks be wrong?
Why, I’ll just wait here for a while,
And perhaps he’ll be along.
When across the hill I heard a sound,
Like thunder on that day.
One cried out, “It’s the Master,
And he’s passing by this way.”
And when I heard that He was come,
From off my seat I rose.
Why if he can do all these folks say,
I need but touch his clothes.
But I would have to hurry though,
To press through these long lines.
“Excuse me sir,” “Pardon me ma’am,”
I must have said a hundred times.
But you see, I must touch the master,
You see he’s my only hope.
I’ve spent all I had and I’m getting worse,
And I’m at the end of my rope.
When suddenly I touched Him,
And like magic I was healed.
Why instead of my blood going out,
With his blood I was filled.
“Who touched me,” Jesus then cried out,
Then looked around to see,
“For virtue left my body”
And I said, “Master, it was me.”
“Daughter, thy faith has made thee whole,
Now go in peace I say.”
And I’ve never had that sickness since,
For he healed me on that day.
So now you’ve heard this story,
That I have had to tell.
For since I’ve touched the master,
I praise God for all is well.
