It is a gift to be able to write well. It is a grander gift to experience the feelings that generate an inspiring tale. Yet, the amazing gift of life itself gives birth to that inexplicable force that drives a natural writer. Life in its wonderful fullness compels us to share our stories, and when the motivation to express our hearts simply becomes irrepressible, writing becomes joyous, satisfying and exciting.
Is there anything more rewarding than reading our own excellent work? I think not.
Unexpected events and bizarre occurrences have frequently redirected the path of my life, yet I have enjoyed this crazy existence immensely. The Lord Jesus has used my numerous mishaps as opportunities to immerse me in the immeasurable depths of His grace; I am profoundly grateful. If reading about what I have experienced amuses anyone, or encourages him or her to trust God more fully, I will be greatly pleased.
Intellectually, I have been hibernating for fifteen years, but it alarms me to see apostrophes being consistently misused in books, newspapers and magazines. Perhaps I should come out of my domestic cave and participate in our nation's publishing sub-culture. I hope so – writing is a blast.
However, sometimes, it makes me cry.
