It doesn’t matter which one of God’s little creatures we have chosen to be a part of our life; they are totally dependant on us, for their needs. They trust us completely to provide: shelter, food, safety, affection and the love they live for. They exist to please us and to enjoy the immense pleasure found in that love. Nothing else matters.
Our voice is the voice they respond to before all others. It is our touch they long for at the end of the day and in it; they are totally content. They greet us; with great enthusiasm when we arise in the morning. When the night comes, they sleep peacefully and never worry about tomorrow. After all, we’re there and as long as we are, there is nothing to fear.
Their complete dependency on us for survival is one of the reasons we love them so. Without us; they would be alone and at the mercy of the world; so cold, uncaring and cruel. Yet, they never worry. The love and tender care they require and we provide; is sufficient.
When in danger, we come to their rescue. We stay close by when they are in pain. Our voice sooths them and they never doubt we have their best interest at heart.
Oh, that we would learn this valuable lesson from our pets: God’s little creatures that we love unconditionally and who bring such joy to our lives. If we would just trust our Heavenly Father the way our furry little friends trust us and cast all our cares upon Him. If we would just depend completely on His love for and live, knowing, He is our source for every need.
Luke 12: 22-31
And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on. The life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment. Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feedeth them: how much more are ye better than the fowls? And which of you with taking thought can add to his stature one cubit? If ye then be not able to do that thing which is least, why take ye thought for the rest? Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. If then God so clothe the grass, which is to day in the field, and to morrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O ye of little faith? And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind. For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things. But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you. Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
