They lived together with their mother in a tiny house
It was only the three since they had not any brothers
They had almost nothing being as poor as a church mouse
But they continued to worship and to always pray
But they had to find jobs in the village to make ends meat
As they walked to work one cold frosty December day
They passed a ragged man trying to preserve body heat
Faith and Hope comforted the tramp “The cold can’t last much longer”
As they trudged on Love took off her cloak and gave it to the man
“Bearing the cold in my cotton dress will just make me stronger”
Faith and Hope exclaimed “Always glad to lend a helping hand”
Down the road they went, they spotted a child all alone
Faith and Hope comforted the wailing child “You’ll be okay”
The child cried “I lost my mommy, I want to go home”
Faith and Hope walked on; Love picked up the boy and went her way
They boy found his mother that day and Love felt quite good
Faith, Hope and Love walked home from work one cold frosty day
Stopping Faith exclaimed “Love where is your green cloak and hood?”
Love said nothing of her deeds, just continued on her way
