Engulfed by waves of despair
Struggling for a single breath
As discouragement fills the air.
Swallowed by an ocean of blackness
Hopelessness pulling me down
Fear grips me in its clutches
Knowing that I’m about to drown.
Shackled by this heavy burden
And near the end of my rope
Clinging to a lifeline
That was my only hope.
With a crash I hit rock bottom
My bones crushed to powder
My heart lay shattered on the ground
Its pounding growing louder.
My tears are flowing freely
Like drops of falling rain
Into mindless puddles
And pools of liquid pain.
There’s no stopping the tears
As the river begins to rise
Filled by the stream of grief
That runs from my eyes.
Suddenly I’m not alone
As a hand takes hold of mine
Knowing that I hunger and thirst
He invites me, come and dine.
He mends my broken heart
Bidding my crying to stop
Takes a bottle from his pocket
Picking up every crystal drop.
