Dread creeps into my soul.
Danger lurks.
My heart thrashes against my chest.
Keep walking...
Voices taunt.
Fear grows taller and looms over me.
Darkness closes in.
Panic intimidates and threatens to stay.
Keep walking...
My thoughts collide
in quiet desperation.
Doom waits in the shadows
Death breaths down my neck
Keep walking...
Then...a gentle whisper...
I strain to listen above the clamor.
“Do not fear.
I am with you.”
Keep walking...
A glimpse of light ahead
My hope struggles to its knees.
Danger fades.
My heartbeat slows.
Keep walking...
The voices scatter.
My fear shrivels up and flees.
The light grows brighter.
Peace settles in again.
Keep walking...
My thoughts focus on Him
I long to shout His praise!
Blessing waits in full sight
Life breathes into my soul.
I've come through...
