Drifting down in timeless flow,
To be divided,
Nevermore,
Shadows of what is to come,
Await me far below.
Noiseless world, prepare for me,
Thickened walls where I may grow,
Embrace my coming,
Tenderly,
So I might curl in tranquil bliss,
With things I cannot know...
...I search for truth with lidless eyes,
Yet nothing in the dark to see;
I sense the knitting of my bones,
By skillful hands unseen by me.
A question grows within my soul,
If all is as it seems to be...
...Something flutters in my chest,
And beats with rhythmic song,
It is my own impatient heart,
Discerning right from wrong.
It forces life through feeble limbs,
Lest I remain this way—
With legs too stiff for me to kneel,
And arms too short to pray.
I think perhaps that I shall sleep,
Until another day...
...No longer can my mind ignore,
The world surrounding me;
Faint ripples form as I explore,
My vast periphery.
Although my fingers try to feel,
They often miss their mark,
Distracted by my strange appeal,
For dancing in the dark.
What wonders will this life reveal,
Once chosen to embark...?
Beyond my grasp, within my reach,
Where silence fails and dreamers preach,
I sense a presence filled with grace,
Who waits to greet me face-to-face.
Maternal love, paternal care,
Assures me someone else is there,
I felt alone until it came—
The whispered voice who knows my name.
Somehow life is not the same...
...Light invades my darkened spaces,
Seeking sins in hidden places,
Leaving only phantom traces,
Of the dark my heart embraces.
Should I bow my head before it?
Turn my back and just ignore it?
Or perhaps I should explore it,
For what’s missing and restore it...
...Look what next awaited me—
Ears to hear!
Eyes to see!
I'm convinced (to some degree),
There's more to life than this.
Can I touch what waits out there?
I don't know!
I don't care!
I'm overjoyed to be aware,
The likelihood exists.
Yet something is amiss...
...Listen what the voice is saying,
For my soul the saints are praying;
Back and forth my heart is swaying—
Which course to pursue?
No time left for lies or stalling,
Rising aspirations falling,
Past ambitions seem appalling,
When I think them through.
What am I to do...?
...It is time,
My choice is made,
So let's call off
the masquerade.
Here I come,
I've seen the light;
I am precious
In His sight!
I am born...

Loved the format and creative change of pace.
Loved the ending!
For example, what graceful depth in this phrase:
“So I might curl in tranquil bliss,
With things I cannot know...”
Sublime middle transition from masculine rhyme to feminine—I can feel the pace and the suspense building—then:
“Here I come,
I've seen the light;
I am precious
In His sight!”
One would think you actually remember your womb experience, my friend. I just love it!
