The ones we love to see,
So like the Sun to darkened world,
Our Savior came to be.
For peace on earth, goodwill to men,
The world has longtime sought.
I’m thankful for the words of hope
The holy angels brought.
I’ve read of how the angels sang
To shepherds from on high.
I’m thankful to anticipate
We’ll hear them by and by.
I’m thankful for the joyful time
When comes the Christmas season,
With knowledge that the Lord of All
Became our Christmas reason.
I’m thankful for my family
To celebrate together
The birthday of our Master now,
And as God wills, forever.
The songs we sing of Jesus’ birth
Cause joy within my heart.
I’m thankful for the message that
The carols do impart.
I’m thankful as I contemplate
The birth of our dear Savior
To know He died and rose again
To grant us God’s good favor.
