Isn't that the truth. I love fairytale stories even when they don't turn out the way we like. Very entertaining.

The story had an important lesson. I would leave out the first paragraph; it did little to advance the story (at least for me).
A good story, well told, and I loved the ending, poor girl! But was she princess Victoria or princess Vanessa?

I liked how you took a common childhood tail and twisted it. The story was full of emotions - from the pain of death to the expected joy of having a grandchild. (As well as the smile of each reader.)
