A change is what I need.
But where should I go?
The trees or the sea?
I let my senses guide me,
And then I will decide.
The City:
I see: People of all backgrounds. Sky scrapers. The concrete jungle.
I hear: Car horns and traffic. People cheering their favorite sports teams.
I feel: The sun reflecting off the concrete. The hard street beneath my feet.
I smell: Car fumes. Food trucks.
I taste: Ethnic foods. A hotdog at the ballpark.
The Sea:
I see: A sandy beach. Water as far as the eye can see.
I hear: The waves beating against the shore. Seagulls calling to one another.
I feel: The sand between my toes. The water lapping against my legs.
I smell: The salt water. Wet sand. And... perhaps... a wet dog.
I taste: Salt on your lips. Seafood.
The Trees:
I see: Rolling hills. Fireflies blinking in the night.
I hear: Silence. Animals in the woods. Thunder.
I feel: Grass between your toes. A breeze on your face.
I smell: A bonfire on a summer night. The damp air after a thunderstorm.
I taste: S'mores. Barbecue.
I’m tired of city dwelling.
A change is what I need.
But where should I go?
The trees or the sea?
I let my senses guide me,
And still I can’t decide.
I’ll spend a month in each,
And then make up my mind.
