1 I'm needing your whetstone to purify me.
Once deadened by sin, but Christ's blood cleanses me.
Your Word works my spirit, it sharpens each day,
And hones its dull edges to trust and obey.
Refrain:
May I yield, may I yield as your whetstone You wield.
May I yield, may I yield as your plan is revealed.
I come to you, Father, so dull, as You see,
In need of your whetstone to purify me.
2 As iron sharpens iron, in your body I find
That sometimes each other our nerves gravely grind,
But faithful in fellowship, finding in time,
Encouragement when there's a mountain to climb.
3 Those mountainous trials, You use to refine,
My spirit transforms, so your will becomes mine.
I welcome your whetstone, though rough it may seem,
I know it's the means for my spirit to gleam.
