Calling to me, Come Hither!
Its chocolate outer shell,
Has me in all a dither.
Delectable, mouthwatering,
Creamy delightful essence,
Like Pavlov’s conditioning,
I cannot resist its presence.
It is the stuff dreams are made of,
In the middle of the night,
When cravings come to haunt me,
To last beyond daylight.
I dare not give into temptation,
For one is never enough,
I’ll gorge myself half silly,
On this decadent, sinful stuff.
Built to perfection,
Juicy insides inspire,
Thoughts of deliciousness,
To quench my palate’s desire.
I learned to love these things,
While at my granny’s knee,
She always had aplenty,
She loved them too, you see.
Granny taught me the finer things,
Life could offer at best,
While rocking on the porch,
When it came time to rest.
You must be wondering now,
What makes my tongue so merry,
It’s simply no other than,
A chocolate covered cherry!
