In many ways, the process of writing a book isn't considerably different from building a house, though you hope it will be a little less expensive. The diligent search isn't for a plot of land but for a topic to write about. With the theme in mind, your quest for information begins. Every place you go, you collect ideas that apply to your topic. Evernote becomes the most used app on your phone. Slowly, an outline begins to form, at least in your head if not on actual paper. There remains just one thing left that you must do.
The decision to become a follower of Jesus also takes extensive planning. Before making this crucial vow, you must first obey the instruction he gave the multitudes as they gathered to hear him speak. Any wise seeker of truth will consider what becoming his disciple will cost and attempt to determine if they are willing to sacrifice all they have for him. Once you have decided to give up all you call your own, even your own life, to serve the creator of the universe, just one thing is left for you to do.
Just one thing you must do.
Begin.
For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it?
(Luke 14:28 KJV)
Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
(Matthew 16:24 KJV)
