A tear dripped from the Savior's eye
As he looked down from heaven
And released a mournful sigh.
"My people, those who I have chosen,
Have slowly lost their passion.
"If only they had grown completely cold.
Instead of apathetic,
And in their coolness, quite bold,
In folly, unapologetic.
Fulfilling words prophetic.
"For their hope, I gave my life, my all -
My body was beaten sore,
The thorns were designed to maul,
And mockery cut me to the core.
Taking all man would adore.
"For them, in great agony, I died,
So they could all live with me.
But they are puffed up in pride
My aching heart, they refuse to see
And they've turned their backs to me.
"Buy of me gold that is tried, I cry,
It will bring riches unknown.
And white garments, also buy
Purity paves the path to my throne
Go, before the hour has flown."
Revelation 3:14-22 KJV
